Bye Bye Maria!

We are all very sad that our secretary of 14 years is leaving us. Maria Laverty will cease to be the friendly face in the office after the mid-term break.

Needless to say, this is a huge loss to our school. Maria has proven herself to be an integral part of this school’s development in the years gone by. She was always completely professional and always courteous and friendly at the cold face of it all. For new parents and visitors to the school, first impressions are vital- and what agreat impression they got!

From all here at the school, we thank you for the service which you have given to us, and we wish you all the very best in your new job!

Useful websites

Check out the websites listed in the Blogroll. Some of them are very useful for parental advice and information. Some great kids’ websites there too. Any suggestions for inclusion to this list are always greatly appreciated.

Minister’s New Announcement

The minister has announced this morning that his statement about school closure is to be changed. Schools MAY now open before Thursday. Our school is still under a blanket of snow, and the yard is a sheet of ice. In the board’s opinion, it is still unsafe for children to walk on, and the approach roads to the school are still not in good condition. The buses are also not confident of any of the back roads around the school and would not be responsible for driving on thoses roads at the moment. Therefore, the school will remain closed on Tuesday and probably on Wednesday. More details to follow tomorrow. signed: Board of Management
